They formed groups of feminists, and some women even became Flappers. The 1920's were a time of change for women and their role in the American society.
Flappers were groups of flambuoyant, usually young, women. They wore short skirts,, bobbed their hair, and took an enjoyment in Jazz music. Flappers were branded by society in not very good ways. People said that they engaged in casual sex, drank, smoked, drove cars, and wore make-up. Flappers were just young women seeking their freedom.
Feminist groups were formed to support women in their ride to eqaulity. They promoted gender equality political, social, legal, and economical rights that women should have. Women claimed they encountered political and personal opression in the male-dominated society.
